The Recreation Special Project Fund (RSPF) is a fund allocated towards the enhancement of community facilities and programming to serve the needs of the County's rural population. With a focus on those located outside of the Town of Stettler boundaries.
The fund is renewed annual, through taxation funds from County ratepayers. This year $50,000 was made available in the fall. This was available to recreation bodies in the County for building or enhancing recreation facilities or programming to maintain viable recreation options within the County of Stettler.
Not-for-Profit Societies, Community Groups, Associations, and Agricultural Societies can apply for Recreation Special Project Funding, if they also meet the eligibility requirements as outlined in the RSPF Information Guide.
Applicants are asked to read the application form thoroughly to ensure your project is eligible for funding. RSPF applications are due by October 31 annually and may be submitted at any time. You can obtain a hard copy of the application form at the County of Stettler Administration Building.
The purpose of the Recreation Special Project Fund Policy is to establish the criteria for funding distribution. The funds are shared with applicants who strive to construct or enhance recreational facilities to serve the needs of the County's population. Most importantly, applicants must be outside of the Town of Stettler boundaries, with the exception for properties owned by the Stettler Agricultural Society. These criteria must be met in order to ensure that this fund is renewed annually through taxation to be established by council.
