Approaches and Culverts

Sometimes a farmer needs a new or additional access for agricultural purposes. Other landowners may want to install a new approach or upgrade an existing approach. In other instances an applicant for a subdivision or a development permit may be required as a condition of approval to construct new or upgrade existing approaches, where deemed necessary. In all of these instances the landowner must obtain the County's approval before installing or upgrading an approach. Please refer to the Policy 5.5 Installation of Approaches and Culverts and call us if you wanted to discuss more details of these requirements.

 The following fee and security deposit apply to all approach applications:

1. First approach – agricultural purposes only (see Public Works Policy 5.5) - $500.00 refundable deposit. The cost of the third and additional construction inspections by the County will be deducted from the deposit at $50.00 per inspection.
2. All other approaches pursuant to Public Works Policy 5.5 - $200 PLUS a refundable security deposit of $500.00 OR a survey plan/construction plan. The cost of the third and additional construction inspections by the County will be deducted from the deposit at $50.00 per inspection.
