Welcome to the County of Stettler Photography Contest. Here you will find all the pertintent information and forms that you will need to submit entires. Why have a Photography Contest?Our County is as picturesque as it comes. There are so many areas, activities, landscapes and breathtaking views that we couldn't possibly capture them all ourselves. We are turning to our residents, the ones who know our County the best, to submit photos of what they believe represents our way of life. We want to use these photos to represent our County on published material and our website, which are people's first impressions when they first explore our wonderful communities. Who Can Enter?County Taxpayers. Meaning, you live within the borders of the County of Stettler, and not within the borders of another municipality. Town residents are not eligible for this contest. There is also no age restriction. Parents must sign the guardian release on the entry form, but there is not age restriction. (there is no special category for youth either - all are judged within one general category) Do you have to be a professional or own a professional camera? NO! That is the whole point. We have so many people who love to capture their memories on camera, and we are just asking you to share them with us. Whether you are out taking photos of nature, your grandchildren or your favorite neck of the prairies, we just want to share in your experience and your memory. We have made it easy and straight-forward to enter, and there are 4 contests wrapped up into one, so you can enter multiple times! Why are there FOUR different phases?We know that each season brings a unique dynamic to our county. The landscape, our activities and our livelihoods are so dependent on the weather we want to ensure that we give every opportunity for people to submit their photos from each season. We will also be publishing these photos in a calendar - available to County residents and want the pictures to depict the various seasons our County experiences. How Do I Enter?You submit your photos via email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or drop off 5X7 prints at the County of Stettler Administration Building. There is a limit of 5 entries per person, per phase. How Will You Choose The Winners?Each phase will have 3 winners. Two will be chosen by a panel of judges - they will first choose the winner is each of the 6 categories, then choose two overall outstanding photographs. The contest will be judged anonymously ( in other words, the judges will not know if the picture belongs to you until after judging is completed). The third winner will be chosen by the public through Facebook. Each phase will have a 2 week voting period, and the one with the most votes will win the third spot!
