New Road Bans (Gravel Roads) Going into Effect Thursday, March 19 at 8:00 AM

General Public Notices Posted on March 18, 2026

NEW ROAD BAN ALERT (02-2026) – COUNTY OF STETTLER NO. 6

Effective 8:00 AM on Thursday, March 19, 2026 the County of Stettler No. 6 will be implementing seasonal road bans on identified gravel roads.
These restrictions apply to ALL vehicle traffic traveling on County of Stettler roads, including agricultural producers, contractors and operators.
There are no exemptions.

Why are road bans necessary?
During spring thaw, gravel roads become highly vulnerable as moisture weakens the road base. Heavy traffic during this period can cause significant damage, including rutting, loss of structure, and long-term deterioration. Implementing road bans helps preserve the integrity of our road network, reduces costly repairs, and ensures safer travel conditions for all users.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work to protect our infrastructure for the benefit of all residents and travelers in our County.
