NOTICE OF PROPOSED DISPOSITION

Section 70 (1) of the Municipal Government Act states if municipality proposed to transfer or grant an estate or interest in land for less than its market value, the proposal must be advertised.   

The County of Stettler No. 6 proposes to dispose of the above lot in the Hamlet of Botha for $13,000.00 including G.S.T.  

The current market value of Plan 0821859; Block 3; Lot 6 - $19,500.00
 
 The County of Stettler No. 6 makes no representation and gives no warranty whatsoever as to the adequacy of service, soil conditions, land use districting, building and development conditions, absence or presence of environmental contamination, or the development ability of the subject lands for any intended use by the Purchaser.

INFORMATION FOR ELECTORS

Pursuant to Section 1(1)(i) of the Municipal Government Act an “elector” means a person who is eligible to vote in the election for a councillor under the Local Authorities Election Act. Pursuant to Section 47(1) of the Local Authorities Election Act a person is eligible to vote in an election held pursuant to this Act if the person: 

(a) is at least 18 years old, 

(b) is a Canadian citizen, and 

(c) has resided in Alberta for the 6 consecutive months immediately preceding election day and the person’s place of residence is located in the area on election day. 

In accordance with the provisions of Sections 223 and 231 of the Municipal Government Act, electors equal in number to at least 10% of the population may submit a petition for a vote of the electors on this proposal. The petition for a vote must be received by the Chief Administrative Officer within 60 days of the last publication of this notice and shall contain on each page “an identical statement of the purpose of the petition”. Further requirements of the petition are provided in the Municipal Government Act, including Section 224.
